MCAN

Accomplishments

For MCAN, 2019 was a year of transitions, new partnerships, and strategic solutions to get the job done. While our leadership and goals evolved, our dedication to expand equitable opportunities for students in Michigan did not. By embracing existing partnerships and developing new collaborations, we were able to make progress toward our goal and make an impact on thousands of students' futures. With every accomplishment, we grow stronger in pursuit of our goal.

Impact Map: In 2019, MCAN worked on developing its interactive Impact Map, which is an online resource for educators, administrators, legislators, and college access professionals. The Impact Map displays student and community outcome data by ISD, county, region, legislative district and state connected to increasing attainment.

FAFSA Challenge MCAN was proud to partner with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist to announce the Governor’s FAFSA Challenge. This challenge urged every Michigan high school to increase their FAFSA completion rate among graduates of the Class of 2020, and boosted MCAN's College Cash Campaign. We appreciate Gov. Whitmer's demonstrated support of the Sixty by 30 goal and its implications for generations of Michiganders.
